Last Resort partly takes place in 1930's Annandale, MN and the rave reviewed Crockpot Jazz Band will be playing songs from the book covering music from the 30's to modern times. John will be discussing the fictional links to Annandale's past and how it relates to real events of the area! Copies of the book will be available and John will be singing. Refreshments and snacks will be available. You may want to bring a chair and enjoy the show. Don't forget sunblock and be prepared for a family friendly day in the park! This is a free admission public event so everyone is welcome!

Before the Band kicks off John will be hosting a Writers Workshop in the Park Shelter at 10:00AM. This first of it's kind Writers Workshop will focus on Inspiration Sourcing and Motivating the Project. Following the workshop; time is allowed for open forum discussion about writing. You may want to bring a notepad to jot down ideas!

Following both events (the Writers Workshop and Music in The Park) will be disc golf with the author. Informal teams will play through the 12 hole Disc Golf Course at the other side of the park. Bring your discs and meet in the parking lot before 4:00PM.

Last Resort encompasses the mystery of the past with the circumstances of the present and asks the age-old question, can history be changed? On a deeper level, the story addresses the conflict many people face about their own lives; why is this happening? What could I have done differently? Does my family’s history determine my life? Are we the helpless pawns of pre-destination or does free will really make a difference? Do I only believe what I see or are there things we can’t see? As the story progresses we follow the main character to a conclusion that we are here for a reason, that God has a plan and a fail-safe and that everything will balance in the end. Can history be changed? Read the story and draw your own conclusions. After all, you do have free will!
